Activated carbon for wastewater treatment

Addition of Desotec powdered activated carbon in aerobic or anaerobic biological wastewater treatment plants results in better and stabler operation:

• higher resistance to shock loads, temperature fluctuations and toxic substances;
• better treatment results for bio-recalcitrant or non-biodegradable compounds;
• better reduction of colour and micropollutants;
• better oxygen input;
• better nitrification;
• reduced foam formation;
• better decantation, thickening and dehydration of the biosludge;
• smaller SVI (sludge volume index);
• less filamentous sludge.
