Oxycon^®: beluchte filters voor afvalwater

Speciaal voor de behandeling van afvalwater ontwikkelde Desotec de Oxycon®-technologie. Daarbij voegen we een hoeveelheid zuurstof (uit lucht) toe aan een klassieke actievekoolfilter. Daardoor wordt de actieve kool, behalve een adsorptiemiddel, ook een katalysator voor chemische oxidatie. Beluchten kan zelfs als de filter al in gebruik is.

De toevoeging van zuurstof stimuleert ook de aangroei van bacteriën. Die reduceren verontreinigingen in het afvalwater, terwijl ze vrij loszwemmen in het water of vastgehecht zijn aan de actieve kool. De bacteriën staan in voor de afbraak van moeilijk afbreekbare moleculen (on-site bio-regeneratie).

• extended or even permanent activated carbon bed life;
• rapid development of the biological action within the carbon bed that is able to cope with toxic shocks;
• recalcitrant molecules are eliminated equally well as easily degradable molecules;
• nitrification (only at very low loads).
