Introduction

DESOTEC  activated carbon is a company already well established in the Benelux countries, France and Poland. As an internationally oriented company we continuously seek to improve our services to our customers and therefore decided to further expand in Southern Europe. As a result of this, we are proud to announce the foundation of our new service center in Spain.

The new activated carbon service centre

The DESOTEC  activated carbon service centre is situated in an industrial estate in Constantí near Tarragona, Spain and will comprise a Spanish sales office, a 1100m² activated carbon warehouse and a 1200m² outside storage facility.  The service facility will be equipped with an activated carbon filling and emptying station for mobile activated carbon filters and will enable DESOTEC Activated Carbon to further expand its overall service capacities in the area. Delivery of various types of activated carbon (permanently in stock), mobile activated carbon filters and return of spent carbon including logistics and administration will be supported from this local facility.  Our local Spanish team will become your contact for overall solutions based on activated carbon.

Being able to deliver our products and services from a local warehouse implies several advantages for our customers. Shorter distance from the warehouse to the end-user means:

• Faster delivery of product
• More cost effective transport

Due to the faster delivery our customers will need less stock and thus lower capital investment.

The new service centre will also be used as a collection centre for used or spent activated carbon.  This will allow more cost effective handling of small mobile adsorption filters compared to filter exchange from Belgium.

Activated carbon applications

DESOTEC activated carbon offers solutions for

Our solutions include the AIRCON® mobile adsorption systems that are designed to purify gases using the AIRPEL^® range of products while our MOBICON® activated carbon filters are used to purify liquids with the ORGANOSORB^® range of products.

At DESOTEC’s facilities, all used carbon is analysed so the right measures can be taken for handling and removing the saturated carbon out of the mobile filters. All molecules that were adsorbed on the activated carbon at the customers’ site, are desorbed inside DESOTEC’s reactivation furnaces. These contaminants are then fully destroyed, in accordance with National and European legislation, by an incineration and neutralisation setup. The entire installation and it's emissions are under continuous on-line monitoring, which guarantees that only harmless water vapour is seen exiting the chimney.
