Engineering & Fabrication Manager

Based in Red Bluff, CA

DESOTEC'S mission is to protect our planet. We provide end-to-end purification solutions for pollution in air, water and other gases and liquids. We do this by supplying mobile activated carbon filters to our B2B customers. We recycle our own saturated filters by taking back the spent activated carbon for reactivation, making our filter solutions circular. 

Your Responsibilities Include: 

·         Lead the front office design group and supervise the fabrication shop (day/night shifts).

·         Configure solutions for the design and build of ASME-compliant filters while standardizing filters and related equipment for filling, emptying, and testing. 

·         Maintain an overview of all ongoing filter projects and employees in the fab shop. 

·         Ensure communication and agreement between ESH (environment-safety-health), engineering, and fabrication shop operations.  

·         Manage projects and decision-making process by guiding filter draftsmen/engineers. 

·         Lead the fabrication shop team, ensuring compliance with ASME standards as per our Quality Manual. Provide guidance on fabrication assembly and welding.

·         Monitor cash-out/CAPEX expenditures alongside Procurement, continuously seeking cost savings and manufacturing efficiencies.

·         Be the primary point of contact for all filter design and manufacturing concerns.  

·         Work to standardize filter components within the United States,  while working in cooperation with our European parent company. 

·         Work closely with the EHS Manager to promote a culture of safety and ensures safe operations in the Fabrication Shop. 

·         Management responsibilities for the engineering personnel at our Red Bluff facility, as well as the Fabrication Shop personnel.

Qualifications:

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical Engineering.

·         Experience in managing a draftsmen, engineers and shop floor employees 

·         Minimum of 7 years of relevant filter design and manufacturing experience.  

·         Proficiency in Excel, MS Project, AutoCAD, Inventor and Compress Software. Experience with ERP is a plus. 

·         Detail oriented and hold others accountable to the same standard.

·         Decisive, supportive, and progress oriented.

·         Independent worker while being part of a multinational, multidisciplinary team (Procurement, Sales, Fabrication, Supply Chain, and Operations).  

·         Analytical and solution-oriented.
