Wastewater treatment goes hand in hand with crop protection products

As part of the manufacturing of these crop protection products (pesticides, fungicides, herbicides, etc.), many of these companies find themselves dealing with the industrial effluent that is generated in the process.

The sources of this kind of wastewater are many and varied: from rinsing the mixing tanks or reactors, all the way up to rainwater. In which case the effluent is typically polluted with chlorinated hydrocarbons, organophosphate compounds or carbamates.

DESOTEC designs, supplies and installs mobile active carbon filters that remove the aforesaid pollution from the water, whereby the adsorbed molecules are destroyed in our own recycling plants for the spent active carbon. Our MOBICON® filters have been specifically designed for the purpose of wastewater treatment, groundwater remediation, process water filtering and any number of other industrial applications.

 

At DESOTEC’s facilities, all used carbon is analysed so the right measures can be taken for handling and removing the saturated carbon out of the mobile filters. All molecules that were adsorbed on the activated carbon at the customers’ site, are desorbed inside DESOTEC’s reactivation furnaces. These contaminants are then fully destroyed, in accordance with National and European legislationby an incineration and neutralisation setup. The entire installation and it's emissions are under continuous on-line monitoring, which guarantees that only harmless water vapour is seen exiting the chimney.
