The Methylene blue number (MBN) is the amount of Methylene blue (a heterocyclic aromatic dye) adsorbed on activated carbon under defined conditions. This parameter is an indication of the mesopore structure of activated carbon and is a good indicator for the adsorption of larger molecules like humic acids in landfill leachate.
