DESOTEC appoints Mark Thys as Chief Executive Officer

Roeselare, Belgium – 16 June 2025 – DESOTEC, Europe’s leading provider of mobile filtration solutions, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Thys as Chief Executive Officer, effective 18 August 2025. Pieterjan Goedertier, who has been serving as Interim CEO, will return fully to his role as Chief Operating Officer.

Mark brings more than 25 years of international leadership experience across a wide range of industries, including Automotive, Life Sciences, Testing, Inspection & Certification (TIC), and Recycling. With a proven track record of delivering topline growth and driving operational efficiencies, Mark is well-equipped to lead DESOTEC into its next chapter of further expansion and sustainable growth.

Mark joins DESOTEC from Renewi, a leading European waste-to-product company focused on recycling, sustainability and circular solutions, where he served as Group COO and CEO for the BeLux Organisation. With deep operational expertise in sustainability-driven industries, Mark is uniquely positioned to help advance DESOTEC’s mission of creating a cleaner, greener world. Prior to Renewi, Mark held senior leadership roles at Eurofins, Goodyear, and Accenture, driving topline growth, business transformation and operational improvements across business units.
