Expert Process Operator
DESOTEC is now hiring an Expert Process Operator for our Parker, Arizona facility
POSITION SUMMARY
Expert in a Control Room environment requiring awareness with other process areas; controls work pace and progress on equipment; operates within established work routines and occasional supervisory checks
Job functions:
Follows all policies and guidelines regarding workplace safety and product quality
Read and follow documented processes
Check on equipment throughout shift to ensure equipment is working properly
Loads and unload deliveries to and from regional branches
Operate computer to enter necessary documentation
Make and monitor adjustments in plant via control systems
Maintain inspection and inventory of operation tools
Perform hourly checks on wastewater treatment plant
Make and monitor adjustments in plant via control systems
Contributes to division results and performance
Successfully start the plant in the event of a power outage or other disruption
Issue permits such as Confined space, LOTO, and Hot Work
Ability to lead team with confidence, mentor and train Process Operators
Perform daily and weekly compliance checks and inspections
Follow all safety procedures (LOTO, confined space, etc.)
Operate equipment specific to area such as drum crusher, cooling tower, air compressor
Operates forklift to move materials through plant to stack, weigh, and sort reactivated carbon
Skill Requirements:
High School diploma or GED and a driver license is required
Ability to communicate clearly with team members and management
Minimum three years of experience in an industrial setting
Forklift operation
Must be able to complete 40-hour hazardous waste operations training as well as additional site-specific safety and operator training
Employee must be able to operate a computer and communicate via telephone
Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite of products
Mid-level machine troubleshoot and repair process machinery
Knowledge of chemicals used in specific regeneration processes
Beneficial Qualities:
Some manufacturing/plant experience
Experience with implementing 5s and lean manufacturing principles
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit, stand, hear, and see on a constant basis
Ability to walk, write, and type on a frequent basis
Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
Ability to bend, carry, reach, push, and pull on an occasional basis
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
Ability to work indoors and outdoors as needed. Exposure to heat up to 120 degrees and cold to 30 degrees
May work in areas where noise level is such that hearing protection is required
May be exposed to varying amounts of dust and dirt
Work surfaces may include concrete
