As a Chemical Project Engineer at DESOTEC you get the responsibility... 

  • to design and integrate chemical processes for DESOTEC’s reactivation furnaces in collaboration with other departments: R&D, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Production, QESH. 

  • to specify and select processes and components from suppliers, integrating them into the reactivation furnaces. 

  • to draft functional descriptions which serve as input for PLC programming. 

  • to actively participate in HAZOP and safety studies (including construction files, ATEX). 

  • to create P&IDs (Process and Instrumentation Diagrams) for the process, utilizing AutoCAD Plant 3D. 

  • to take responsibility for the planning and budget of your project scope. 

  • to develop test procedures and manuals, actively participating in commissioning and startup. 

  • to apply process and installation knowledge to train and guide operators and facilitate knowledge transfer to Maintenance. 


Who are you as a Chemical Project Engineer? 

  • You are a Master (of Science) in Chemical Engineering, preferably with specialization in chemical process technology. 

  • You ideally have relevant project experience in thermal and/or chemical processes within a manufacturing environment. 

  • You have knowledge of Word, Excel, MS Project and AutoCAD Plant 3D for the design of P&ID's. 

  • You have experience with process flow diagrams (P&ID’s) and component design/selection (piping, pumps, valves, …). 

  • You are familiar with safety studies (HAZID / HAZOP). 

  • You can speak and write fluently in English and Dutch and you are able to communicate in French too (spoken + written).
