What typical purification projects does DESOTEC have in Eastern Europe?
Removing COD and surfactants from wastewater, Poland
A company that produces household detergents and cleaning products needs to purify its wastewater of COD, including surfactants. DESOTEC supplies two MOBICON filters to handle the flow of 5 m³/ h and reduce the 4 000-5 000 mg/ l of COD to below the legal limit of 1 000 mg/ l. Surfactants are a major environmental problem in Poland, and DESOTEC is proud to partner with this client and be part of the solution.
Removal of VOC at a fuel tank terminal, Lithuania
This company needed to instal a vapours recovery unit (VRU), however the delivery time of such equipment was over 1 year, so the company needed a temporary solution for its emissions. VOCs are generated during the transfer of gasoline from railway cars into trucks. Yearly over 390 000 m3 of gasoline pass through this terminal. Inlet VOC concentrations can reach in peaks several g/m3.
DESOTEC delivered an AIRCON HC-XL filter within few weeks after receiving the order, efficiently purifying the VOC emissions. After the new VRU had been installed, the DESOTEC filter was been taken back.
VOC removal from industrial paint booth, Poland
The company coats electrical switches and sockets. During the coating process, VOCs from paints are emitted. Flowrate reaches 20 000 m3/h and VOC emissions vary between 100-200 mg/m3. The company usually operates during one shift, and given the above technical criteria, the installation of RTO was not justified. The customer decided to install a DESOTEC AIRCON H filter which easily enabled to reach the accepted 50 mg/m3 emission limit.
AOX removal from industrial cleaning wastewater, Czech Republic
This Czech company carries out industrial cleaning of tanks, trucks, silos and other containers. Wastewater from its silo truck cleaning operations is treated with physicochemical technology, but needs further purification to bring down AOX from 1.4 mg/ l to less than 0.5 mg/ l. DESOTEC supplies one MOBICON 2000 filter to handle the flowrate of 4 m³/ h. This removes COD as well as AOX, helping the client to meet legal limits and boost sustainability.
VOC removal from wood furniture and flooring production, Poland
This Polish company produces vinyl flooring and wood panels. DESOTEC supplies one AIRCON H filter to treat vented air from the production hall, handling a flow of 9 500 m³/ h over 5 700 h/ year. Our solution successfully reduces VOCs from an average of 270 mg/ m³ to below the legal limit of 75 mg/ m³, enabling the company to protect air quality for site workers and neighbours.
Styrene removal in composites production, Poland
Emissions of styrene during the production of composite quartz sinks cause an odour nuisance for site workers and neighbours of this Polish company. By installing two DESOTEC AIRCON H filters to handle a flow rate of 50 000 m³/ h, this client is meeting its legal obligations and staying on the right side of nearby residents.
VOC/ siloxane removal from landfill biogas, Poland
DESOTEC works on several projects for this client, who runs biogas plants and landfill sites in Poland. For example, it has supplied an AIRCON HC-XL filter to treat a biogas flow of 620 mg/ m³ containing 150mg/ m³ of siloxanes. This protects downstream machinery and removes odours. DESOTEC has an excellent working relationship with this customer, and can always be relied upon for further support.
