What typical purification projects does DESOTEC have in France, Belgium (Wallonia) and Luxembourg?

PFAS removal from rainwater at a specialty chemical plant, France

PFAS is a major problem for many companies, as even tiny amounts are harmful. This specialty chemical plant is using a DESOTEC MOBICON 2000 filter to remove PFAS from rainwater before sending the water to an industrial WWTP. PFAS adsorbed onto carbon is then fully destroyed in DESOTEC’s thermal reactivation facilities, saving this company hassle and protecting human health and the environment.

Meeting new BREF WGC emissions limits on odours and VOCs, France

Upcoming stricter emissions controls on waste gas in the chemical, petrochemical and pharma sectors are prompting many companies to find new solutions. This French chemical firm has sought treatment for vented air from DMDS storage tanks. Flow rates are low but concentrations high, peaking at 300 g/m³. Two DESOTEC AIRCON HC-XL filters are successfully bringing down DMDS to ensure compliance with the WGC BAT Conclusions.

Odour control at a food waste management facility, north-east France

This new facility handles supermarket and food industry packaging waste, releasing odorous emissions containing NH₃, amines, H₂S, mercaptans, DMS, dimethyl sulfide, aldehydes, ketones, alcohols and VOCs in varying concentrations. The flow rate is 40 000 m³/h. The client considered using a scrubber, but chose DESOTEC’s AIRCON VL filter  due to its successful proven application at another company site. The filter is now enabling the customer to meet the VOC emission limit of 20 mg/ m³ and odour emission limit of 500 UOE/m³.

Treating H₂S at a landfill biogas plant, Wallonia, Belgium

This company had always used its landfill biogas to power engines without first removing the H₂S, causing operational and performance problems. It is now carrying out a one-year pilot project using two DESOTEC AIRCON HC-XL  filters to treat H₂S (concentration: 2 500 mg/ m³). If engine performance improves as expected, this temporary project could be made permanent, saving on engine maintenance and operational costs.
