Where can I find mobile activated carbon filters in Germany, Austria and Switzerland?

DESOTEC supplies air/ gas and water/ liquid filtrations solutions to clients in various industries across Germany, Austria and Switzerland. DESOTEC’s network of local partners brings it closer to you, providing a rapid, customer-focused service with high availability of filters and a range of carbon grades.

In Germany, Remondis in Hoppstädten handles the filling and emptying of DESOTEC filters, and accepts waste through voluntary take-back.

In Switzerland, Cridec operates a logistics hub for DESOTEC, as do partners in Austria.

With these local partnerships in place and a strategic activated carbon and mobile filter stock availability, filter delivery to all corners of the DACH region and carbon waste management are more efficient, ensuring quicker filtration service delivery to your site and no production downtime.

Its dedicated German-speaking sales managers are ready to discuss your company’s purification needs.

What typical purification projects does DESOTEC have in Germany, Austria and Switzerland?

Removing solvent VOCs in the pharma sector in Switzerland

This client manufactures peptides and lipids for APIs, requiring the removal of various solvent VOCs after the preliminary production stage. Concentrations vary, so an adaptable solution is important. The exhaust air is passed first through a condenser, an acidic scrubber and an alkaline scrubber. Two DESOTEC filters then polish the airstream before it is safely discharged. DESOTEC handles all carbon off-site, keeping pharma plants pristine and dust-free.

Odour control at a sewage sludge plant in Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany

A new sewage sludge drying plant requires a two-stage air purification system to remove odorous VOCs and sulphurous compounds. Each stage consists of four insulated AIRCON V-XL connected via DESOTEC AIRCONNECT system, handling 52 Tm³/h at 80°C and 70% relative humidity. The set-up enables the company to meet its obligations under TA Luft and keep the air fresh for site workers and those living nearby in this densely populated area.

Removing phenol from wastewater at a production site in Bavaria, Germany

This client manages liquid waste, industrial wastewater and process water for customers. It uses a DESOTEC MOBICON filter to purify wastewater of the toxic substance phenol, commonly found in waste from the chemical and petrochemical sectors. The company is pleased with the effectiveness of DESOTEC’s solutions, which reduce phenol to very low levels so the wastewater can be safely discharged to a WWTP.

H2S removal at a WWTP/ biogas plant, Baden-Württemberg, Germany

Sewage sludge from this WWTP is used to generate biogas – but the process releases odorous and sulphurous off-gas. To protect air quality for site workers and nearby residents, the client has installed DESOTEC AIRCON 2000 LPF filters to remove the H2S. The customer can continue to produce sustainable fuel while remaining on good terms with its neighbours and meeting its obligations under TA Luft.

Treating VOCs at a piano manufacturer, northern Germany

The paint shop at this renowned piano manufacturer has four spray booths for coatings that generate vented air emissions containing a range of VOCs in varying concentrations. These emissions are channelled discontinuously at a flow rate of 80 000 m³/h to two DESOTEC AIRCON V-XL filters, which bring down VOC levels to well below the limit of 20 mg/m³. The manufacturer is thus able to meet its green goals while making around 2 000 world-class pianos every year.

Controlling odours at a fragrance producer, northern Germany

Fragrances are wonderful in small doses – but cause an odour nuisance at high concentrations. This fragrance production facility has grown rapidly in recent years, and now generates exhaust air at a flow rate of 40 000 m³/h. To avoid creating an odour nuisance for site workers and neighbours, the company has installed one DESOTEC AIRCON V-XL filter and an AIRCONNECT docking station. The set-up is successfully removing odorous compounds from emissions, enabling the firm to continue production while keeping the air fresh-smelling for people working and living nearby.

Removing AOX from wastewater at an automotive plant, Germany

A well-known automotive manufacturer is a regular DESOTEC client, installing filters across multiple sites and countries. At this German plant, it uses a DESOTEC MOBICON filter to remove AOX from process wastewater. The flow rate is 25 m³/h and continuous, while the concentration of AOX is 0.64 mg/L. The MOBICON filter brings this level right down so the company can safely discharge the wastewater. Carbon waste handling is included in DESOTEC’s full-service solution, enabling the client to focus on what it does best: producing its world-famous vehicles.

Reducing VOCs and NMP from battery recycling air emissions, Germany

A multinational company bought a site in Germany for lithium battery recycling, and wanted to get up and running fast. It knew that emissions from the shredding and drying processes would contain hydrofluoric acid (HF) and VOCs, especially acetaldehyde, ethyl- and dimethyl carbonate (EMC/DMC), and N-Methyl-2-Pyrrolidone (NMP). DESOTEC advised installing a wet scrubber, supplied by a third party, to remove the bulk of the VOCs, HF and dust. The treated airstream is then sent to a DESOTEC AIRCON 2000 PE filter to remove the last traces of highly corrosive HF, then passed through two AIRCON HC-XLs in series to treat the acetaldehyde and remaining VOCs. Now the company can be sure of compliance with TA Luft while it continues with its vital work contributing to the energy transition.
