What typical purification projects does DESOTEC have in the Nordics?
PFAS removal from rainwater at municipal construction site, Denmark
A client discovered PFAS in rainwater, which threatened to hold up construction work. DESOTEC provided a MOBICON filter to handle the continuous flow of 49 m³/ h with a PFAS concentration averaging 185 ng/l. All PFAS adsorbed onto the carbon was then completely and safely destroyed in DESOTEC’s furnaces. The client was able to continue the construction project while remaining in compliance with stringent PFAS regulations.
Removing H2S and VOCs from raw biogas on a biomethane plant, Denmark
This large biomethane plant produces ca. 10.000 Nm³/h of biogas. The biogas is upgraded to biomethane using four parallel membrane upgrading lines each processing ca. 2.500 Nm³/h of biogas. To protect the membranes, H2S and VOCs must be eliminated. The bulk of the H2S is removed with bio-scrubbers. In order to remove all remaining H2S downstream of the bio-scrubbers, even during their maintenance or cleaning, DESOTEC uses four mobile AIRCON HC-XL filters in series on each membrane upgrading line, two for H2S, and two for VOC removal. With sixteen AIRCON HC-XL on site in total DESOTEC delivers a robust and reliable solution for the biogas purification and protection of the downstream equipment.
Purifying wastewater of PFAS, Sweden
This wastewater treatment company purifies clients’ wastewater of most PFAS, but further polishing is sometimes required. For one temporary project, DESOTEC provided a MOBICON 1000 filter to handle a flow of 16 m³/ day, containing 1400 ng/l PFAS, including 870 ng/ l of PFAS21 and 500 ng/l of Capstone B. All PFAS adsorbed onto carbon was then completely and safely destroyed in DESOTEC’s furnaces, protecting human health and the environment.
Removing dissolved VOCs from process liquids, Finland
A specialty chemical company produces electric car batteries at its Finnish plant and needs to remove dissolved VOCs from its (NH4)₂S0₄ raffinate line. DESOTEC supplies two MOBICON filters in parallel to handle the continuous flow of 60 m³/ h and steady concentration of 25 mg/L, along with two standby filters. All waste carbon is handled sustainably by DESOTEC, helping the customer reach its green goals.
Biogas and CO₂ offgas purification, Denmark
DESOTEC has an excellent partnership with this Danish biogas firm, working together on several projects. At this client’s new plant, DESOTEC is providing two AIRCON 3000 filters for CO₂ offgas cleaning, along with one AIRCON 3000 PE filter to purify a biogas sidestream of H₂S during regular maintenance periods. It has also supplied an AIRCON H filter to replace an RTO, purifying CO₂ offgas and air of H₂S. The client knows DESOTEC can be relied upon for any future projects.
Odour and VOC removal in asphalt production, Sweden
During the loading and unloading of trucks at this asphalt mixing plant, VOCs and H₂S are emitted, causing an odour nuisance. A local partner has installed a wet scrubber, which is followed by two DESOTEC AIRCON V-XL filters in parallel to handle the flow of 80 000 m³/ h and concentrations of 10-20 mg/ m³. The end client is now able to protect air quality at the site for the benefit of workers and neighbours.
Purifying fish oil, Norway
This company processes edible fish oil at its Norwegian plant in batches. DESOTEC supplies two MOBICON 2000 FG filters, specially designed for food grade applications. They handle the flow rate of 2 m³/ h. As part of its full-service solution, DESOTEC provides sustainable waste carbon handling at its own facilities, ensuring that this food production site remains pristine and dust-free at all times and saving the client hassle.
