What typical purification projects does DESOTEC have in UK and Ireland?
VOC (DCM) removal in the pharma sector, Ireland
Process venting from this pharma factory releases VOCs, especially DCM. Emissions also contain acetone from cleaning products. Due to the tight space, DESOTEC supplies four smaller AIRCON 2000 LPF filters, connected in two lines of two filters. When the front filters are saturated, they are exchanged and the emissions pass through the rear filters. Four spare filters are provided as back-up, ensuring the client always has reliable filtration on hand.
VOC removal at a battery recycling facility, UK
This plant emits air at a flowrate of approximately 3 000 m³/h, with discontinuous operations. The company removes the bulk of the emissions with a scrubber, followed by two DESOTEC AIRCON 3000PE filters to treat hydrogen fluoride (at a low concentration) then an AIRCON HC-XL to remove acetaldehyde. This combination of technologies is both efficient and effective in achieving the VOC limit of 20 mg/ m³.
Removing VOCs and H₂S in the biogas sector, East Anglia, UK
This client generates biogas through anaerobic digestion. To reduce odours and protect the membranes used for upgrading biogas into biomethane, VOCs and H₂S must be completely removed from the gas stream. DESOTEC supplies two AIRCON HC-XL filters to treat the 2400 m³/h stream. Each filter contains different carbon grades for VOCs and H₂S treatment. This set-up enables the client to generate a steady supply of sustainable energy.
Wastewater purification in the waste sector, UK
An industrial waste management company had a fixed activated carbon filter to treat wastewater from processes and run-off. It replaced this setupd-up with a DESOTEC MOBICON 2000 sand filter, followed by a MOBICON model filled with activated carbon, to remove AOX including chloroform, DCM and naphthalene. The new set-up is enabling the client to meet its emission limit of <100 ppb.
