About

Waste and recycling operators today must do more than just “pass inspections.” They’re expected to stay ahead of Clean Air Act, RCRA (including RCRA Organic Air Emissions Standards), and Clean Water Act/NPDES requirements while simultaneously reducing their carbon footprint and landfill waste. Traditional, fixed treatment systems and single-use carbon often make that balance difficult.

This session shows how activated carbon mobile filters give landfills, waste treatment facilities, and recycling centers a low-downtime, low-CAPEX path to compliance. We’ll examine how mobile filters are used to control odors, VOCs and HAPs in off-gas and building exhaust, polish landfill gas downstream of flares or other controls, and treat leachate and wastewater to meet NPDES limits.

We’ll also highlight DESOTEC’s reactivation-based service model, where spent activated carbon mobile filters are exchanged, transported off-site, and reactivated instead of landfilled. As one of the few providers able to reactivate carbon from these demanding waste applications, DESOTEC helps customers transform emissions control into a circular, lower-CO₂ solution that supports both regulatory and sustainability goals.
